This site is in progress. Right now the Petaluma Parents Network is a yahoo group message board. Our mission and policies are outlined below. To join you can go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/petalumaparentsnetwork/ . This site will soon serve to supply useful information regarding parenting resources to the Petaluma parenting community. Please visit us again soon and hopefully we will be up and running! If you would like to help research content for this site please contact me at heidirhymes@gmail.com. We all know how much time parenting takes, but if a few of us give a little bit we can create a great resource for this community. Thank you!

PPN MISSION STATEMENT
The Petaluma Parents Network is a group designed to support Petaluma parents of school aged children (kindergarten (or entering) through 12th) in the exchange and sharing of information pertaining to and around parenting. This can include parenting concerns and suggestions, information regarding schools, programs, services, activities and opportunities for children and parents, community and family support of one another (ie babysitters, pet-sitters, neighbors in need...), community emergency situations, trade, sell or barter of family/child-related goods (ie sports gear, games, clothes) and all other information which would benefit our wonderful community of parents. We ask that all political, religious or other "controversial" topics be kept free of opinions. Information such as "Church Y is holding a class on teen parenting...) is allowed, but please be respectful and keep opinions and viewpoints to yourself. We are a diverse community and we all have different opinions, please be kind and don't post something to the group or a member that would offend or hurt someone. If you are not sure if it will, er on the side of caution and do not post it. Please also try not to clog up the group with things that should be sent to an individual. If you poll the members for information that would be useful to others I am sure a summary of your responses would be appreciated. Anyone can join that is a parent or caregiver with kids kindergarten (or entering) through 12th grade that live in or around Petaluma.
